Hello, I just installed PGG today, and I've run the config program and set up my joystick (as stated in the title, a Saitek ST290 PRO) as 3 axis with throttle.

When I load the game however, mouse control is used in the base (that's normal perhaps, I don't know.) But when I launch my ship, moving my joystick, or pressing any of the buttons does nothing. There is no drift or pull or anything, its just like the game isn't detecting the joystick as an input device.

A link to my config settings, in case that's useful: http://i.imgur.com/TKE0x.jpg

Thank you in advance for any help, I can't wait to play this game.

Hi,

I have no joystick, and can say mouse+keyboard works great!

A possible alternative, true.

I also did some experimenting, my joystick will work if I have it set up as a simple 2-Axis joystick. This disables rolling via twisting of the joystick and throttle control. But I have been playing pretty well without these advantages. I do love the game so far, even though it is almost frustratingly hard at some points, but then again, thatss what makes it fun.

If anyone does know how to enable 3 axis with throttle for my joystick, feel free to let me know.

What version of Windows are you using? Do you have the jstick set as the primary device under the control panel/game controllers/advanced option?

do you play with my patch installed or not? If you do, could you please point out what was "frustrating" for you?

An additional data point. I'm using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick on an HP Elitebook 8760w running Windows 7 Professional. No problems getting the joystick to run as a 3-axis ... except that the "calibration" app in Windows doesn't allow me to adjust the size of the "dead space" on the 3rd axis, so my ship is constantly rolling unless I apply a slight offset to the 3rd axis while I fly. That was annoying, so I'm playing the game with one of the 2-axis options.

I know this thread is a little old, but someone over on the vegastrike forum has posted their settings for their Saitek joystick:

Not exactly the same model, but since it's the same brand, it might help the OP.
