I'm sure there's a lot of people who may have been visiting the forum looking for news on the most recent version of the game. There is a newer version of the game floating around the SVN compared to the links in the files section of the site. I can see some tinkering has also been happening recently.

It's been a long while since I've checked into the forum for recent posts. Anyone know what happened to John about two to three years ago? I've been on many times since then, but he seems to have quietly disappeared.

Besides that, it's really awesome to see someone working on GG lately. Really looking forward to reading the developments! Thanks for looking into GG pheonixstorm! If you need any Privateer materials I have the original CD version with both of the expansions on it. I'd be more than happy to help out any way I can.

I don't know if VS will support it but it would be nice to get the talking heads back in. I think I still have my cd copy but I'm not sure. Last time I looked I couldn't find it :(

Let me know how large those files are compressed. They could come in handy to figure out how to reproduce the talking heads.

Could you point out which files exactly or do you mean the entire CD? I have the entire disk already on hand as I use it with Dos Box (uncompressed obviously).

Is it possible to create a new and actual release version of the game. 1.04 for example? My problem is, that I can't find any files to download in addition to the 1.03 version. I am sorry that this post is a pure request for a new result in the form of "hey guys, spend me a new game version", but I am not able to write software programmes. I am just an old privateer junkie lost in space. :oops:

@Hornster
my understanding is there is only one stable release - v1.03

@Draken
could you pls share your Priv disks? Probably I will be able to grab something out of it... at least, the comm animations for some campaign persons like Jones, Menesch etc

I downloaded files from the internet, and found it's really hard to find graphics that could be grabbed out of the old Priv))
now I'm really amazed with the work PGG/PR/PU artists have done to recreate the art with high detail. Some spots looked sharper, though...

I've extracted sound files but it appears PGG already has everything...

One of the Priv fan sites has a release of the original models used to create the graphics. I don't remember the link offhand.. but if there is interest i will try to dig it up again. If memory serves the download was rather large too.
